Rahmi Aksungur (b, 1955) Rahmi Aksungur, who graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1979 after being awarded the outstanding achievement award with his diploma work, has participated in many sculpture and monument sculpture competitions, personal and mixed art events since his student days. . The artist received the title of proficiency in art at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Sculpture in 1983 and professorship in 2000. In 2001, he won the first prize in the "Republican History Arrangement Art Works Competition" and realized the project, which is the first large-scale sculpture arrangement in Turkey, at the Ankara State Cemetery. He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSU) between 2002-2006 and as the Rector of MSGSU between 2006-2010. The artist, who participated in various art events in Turkey and abroad, as well as in group and group exhibitions, has works in public and private spaces, in various collections and museums. The artist has been working with Evin Art Gallery since 2007. Aksungur continues his work in Istanbul.
