Pınar Yoldaş

Pınar Yoldaş, a new media artist who has been working in the USA and Europe since 2006, still works as an assistant professor at the Department of Visual Arts and Design at UC San Diego University.

Being the first Turkish Artist to win the Guggenheim Fellowship, one of America's most prestigious art awards, Yoldaş's works have participated in more than 100 international exhibitions. Invited to the 2015 Istanbul Biennial, Yoldaş subsequently won the European Science and Art Award, the FEAT (Future Emerging Arts and Technology) scholarship. In 2013, he was deemed worthy of the Schering Stiftung and Transmediale Villem Flusser awards in Germany for his work An Ecosystem of Extremism, which is now included in the exhibition. Due to its success in bringing environment and art together effectively, this work has been shown in more than 20 museums in 3 continents for the last 6 years, from NAMOC China Contemporary Art Museum to Norway Biennale. The book of the work, which will be shown at the Royal Academy in London at the end of the month, was published by Argobooks in 2014.

Dr.Yoldaş has a bachelor's degree in Architecture from METU, and a master's degree in Visual Communication Design at Bilgi University and Internet Technologies at ITU. After completing her third master's degree at UC Los Angeles University in the USA, she completed her doctorate in Arts and Neuroscience from Duke University in 2016. The artist, who has been drawing continuously since he was 2 years old, opened his first personal painting exhibition in 1985 when he was just five years old. The artist, who is a graduate of İzmir Science High School, has a bronze medal at the 1997 Tübitak National Chemistry Olympics.
