He was born in 1938 in Istanbul. He graduated from Kabataş High School for Boys in 1958. He started painting in 1959. He drew cartoons in "Dolmus", "Tef" and "Pardon" magazines. He opened his first painting exhibition in Taksim Square in 1959. Between 1964 and 1969, he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics and graduated from there. He won the International Peace Festival Painting first prize and Ahmet Andiçen Seramik the first prize within the Academy in 1967. While he was a student at the academy, his work was accepted into the Beşiktaş Painting and Sculpture Museum National Collection with the suggestion of Sabri Berker.

The paintings of the artist, who won the first prize in the Tekel Painting competition in 1987, are in Istanbul and Ankara Painting and Sculpture Museums, Broken Hill Municipal Museum in Australia, New York University Abby Gray Collection, Istanbul Modern, and also in many important collections at home and abroad. exists. The artist, who chooses a different place and subject every year, lives in Istanbul Bakırköy. Muhsin Kut was deemed worthy of the 'Honored Artist' award of the 19th Istanbul Art Fair in 2009 for his important contributions to Turkish painting.
