Sculptor Bahadır Çolak meets art lovers in Ankara with his exhibition "What is Missing?", which will be hosted by Gallery Siyah Beyaz, between February 21 – March 23, 2020.

Through his works in the exhibition, Bahadır Çolak focuses on issues such as power relations, established perceptions, and system impositions. The artist, who develops stance against the impositions of the system, draws attention to this disorder and searches for new meanings. Çolak has been thinking and producing in the context of these mechanisms of power and the concepts on which the system is based, for a long time. He redefines this quite heavy concept, which contains endless definitions like power, with the language of sculpture and different visual dynamics.

These sculptures, in which the audience themselves will get involved with their view and inquire, also use the language of psychoanalysis and mythology. Therefore, the entire system that the individual faces is questioned in Bahadır Çolak's works made of steel as well as marble. The sculptures of Çolak keep reminding us that knowledge and image can be manipulated. It takes us on the edge of the contradiction between what we see and what actually is happening.

Bahadır Çolak's exhibition entitled "What is Missing?" can be visited through February 21 - March 23, 2020, between 11.00 - 19.00 every day, except Sundays, at Gallery Siyah Beyaz.
