Sami Baruh BELT OFF!

NOKS is hosting the first solo exhibition of artist and electronic music producer Sami Baruh, “Rupture!” which consist of his video and photography works.

Through different disciplines such as photography, video and sound, Sami Baruh documents the production of tin cans –the family profession that has been passed down from generation to generation– the unchanging way of working going on for almost half a century, and the workshop and the workers that have lived a lifetime in the same place. Baruh had recorded the manual machines and the workers who are obliged to operate them swiftly, as a silent observer during the time he spent in the workshop. Following the opening of the exhibition, the artist invites the audience to dance with techno music as he will perform live electronic music inspired from industrial noise in Kadıköy ZOR. During the opening of the exhibition, the second publication of NOKS Books, Sami Baruh / RUPTURE! will also be launched. Exhibition can be seen at NOKS Independent Art Space between 22th of March 2020 to 19th of April 2020.
