Nasip İyem

Nasip İyem (1921-2011) entered the Painting Department of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1939 and worked at the Leopold Levy Atelier. He left the Academy in 1944. He started working on abstract painting in 1954. In 1955, he opened his first personal exhibition at Ertem Art Gallery in Beyoğlu. In 1958, he started to work on ceramic painting in Eczacıbaşı's ceramic workshop. In 1961, he exhibited his terracotta works at the Istanbul Ceramicists Association. He established his own workshop in 1963. In 1972, he represented Turkey at the Bassano del Grappa International Ceramics Symposium in Italy. In addition to solo and group exhibitions, she opened joint exhibitions with her husband Nuri İyem. His works are still exhibited and certified at Evin Art Gallery.
