He graduated from the Fine Arts Academy, Painting Department in 1985. The artist, who tackles the image as a visual text in art practice, has had nine solo shows and he was granted four awards. He was granted four awards. He participated to over 100 group exhibitions. He was invited to be enrolled in many evaluation committees for painting competitions. He worked as a lecturer at the Painting Department of the Marmara University.
Still working as a lecturer at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Plastic Arts, the artist aims to reveal both image and change of image in perception in conceptual manner in his work and turns to a kind of self-analysis with the image he considers as a visual text. Since conventional subjects in his works are iconographies known, familiarised and adopted by the audience, they allow an artistic investigation, the audience to question himself/herself, and to examine artistic taboos. His works are primarily based on an act of "analysis-synthesis" and "disassembly – re-assembly".
