Mustafa Karyagdi
About
Karyağdı was born in Konya in 1961. He studied painting at the İstanbul Fine Arts University, Faculty of Fine Arts.He worked as a faculty member in the Painting Department Of Atatürk Education Faculty Of Marmara University between 1996 – 2013 and now works at Yeditepe University in the department of Plastics Arts as a faculty member. The artist had 10 solo shows and had 4 success award and a mansion. He participated in more than 100 group exhebitions and his works are held in in public and private museums. He was held many juries at many competitions. Karyağdı aims to expose both the image itself and its change in its perception conceptually. He considers the symbol as a visual essay and in a way tends to analyzehimself. The fact that the conventional subjects in his works are the iconography which should be known, recognised and embraced by the spectator, makes it possible for them to question themselves, for artistic questioning and for examining the artistic taboo. The works basically depend on ‘’ analysis- synthesis ‘’ which is to ‘’destroy’’ and construct. He currently lives and works in İstanbul.
