Manolya Çelikler

Manolya Çelikler (born in İstanbul, 1986) has started Işık University Social Science Institute, after she graduated from Maltepe University, Plastic Arts. Her works have been exhibited in several group shows. She is represented by Pg Art Gallery.

“I'm using knitting and sewing, two very feminine acts, as a tool to express issues on gender, identity and existence. The otherness of women in different cultures is a very precious subject to me, with this motivation I also try to emphasize on the otherness of different social issues. This also focuses on the devaluation of counter aspects while deepening the meaning to different details.”
