Lal Batman

Lal Batman was born in 2001 in Bursa. After completing Fine Arts High School, he started his undergraduate program in Yeditepe University, Plastic Arts Department in 2019. He spent his academic years studying the branches of plastic art and actively producing. His short film "Strange Man" received an award at the international short film festival held in Shumen in 2017. During this period, he participated in curatorial projects, workshops, symposiums and panels in Europe, Asia, South America and the Balkan countries, including Athens, Miami, Paris, Tokyo and Varna.

He continues his projects and exhibitions actively in Turkey. While constructing interdisciplinary practices in his productions, he focused on the evolution of art and design understanding from formality to mentality over time. Along with this thought and understanding, he focused on the dialogue that developed around the axis of space, audience and work in his productions. Since 2019, Batman has been independently producing art and design-oriented projects in various organizations, initiatives and agencies with the aim of understanding and experiencing the dialogue between the audience and the work. In 2020, she acted as the coordinator of the exhibition titled Love Over Entropy held at the Anna Laudel Gallery. He also works as an independent designer at a design agency in Milan. Creating his line by blending digital and plastic tools and techniques, the artist works on concept-oriented projects with video art, digital manipulation, digital illustration, sculpture, and oil painting productions. Batman, who makes the audience experience the world he constructs with his versatile productions, in eclectic formats, currently continues his productions in Istanbul and Belgrade, Serbia.
