About

Hayal İncedoğan, an artist and academician born in Izmir, completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree in the Department of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dokuz Eylül University. She is currently working as a research assistant and is about to complete her studies “Competence in Art” in the Department of Art and Design at the same faculty. In 2005, one year after her graduation, the artist was included in the Contemporary Art Collection of the Elgiz Museum, one of the first private museums in Turkey, and has participated within the scope of the worldwide known international Project “Young Artists in European Museums”. She created a work related to the ceramics collection of the Pera Museum, which exhibited with the collection. In 2007, she won a scholarship of the New York School of Visual Arts University in a competition held throughout Turkey and showed her first exhibition about new media in New York with the support of the Turkish American Association, Mac Art Gallery and the Moon and Stars Project.

In 2010, she was recognized with an award for her success at the 30th Contemporary Artists Exhibition held by Akbank Sanat. In the same year, her works were exhibited in the international collection exhibition “The Last 60 Years of Contemporary Turkish Art” in the Osthaus Museum in Germany, the Mönchehaus Museum Goslar and in Pécs as part of the 2010 Capital of Culture Project, and then at the Modern Hungarian Gallery in Hungary. In a survey organized by Istanbul Art News Magazine in 2014, she was listed among the "40 artists under the age of 40 who draw attention in Turkey's Contemporary Art". Her solo shows “Wild is the Wind” (2012) in the Operating Room of Vehbi Koç Foundation American Hospital Gallery, “Lilac Wine Vol. I” (2014) at ArtOn Istanbul, “The Sound of Infinity" (2015) at Pera Palace Hotel and “In the Shade of Time" (end of 2019) at the Anna Laudel Gallery caused great excitement.

Her works have been exhibited in various museums and institutions in countries such as the United States, Germany, Australia, Finland, Spain, Hungary, and the United Arab Emirates. She has works in many corporate and private collections such as the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Collection, the Istanbul Modern Art Museum Collection, the Elgiz Museum Contemporary Art Collection, the Vehbi Koç Foundation Art Collection, and the Papko Contemporary Art Collection. She continues her works with national and international projects.
