Halil Vurucuoğlu

Halil Vurucuoğlu, born in 1984 in Izmir, defines his painting process as a mental and physical action developed by articulated layers,  which he creates by stacking up and cutting through layers of painted paper to build three-dimensional works. The visual language of  the works focuses on social phenomenona, disinformation, subconscious, human as the combination of the material and the meaning,  and personal issues. As a result of an intensive searching process, the artist mastered the technique where he water-colors the papers  and hand cuts them. Bringing together the imagination and his personal experiences, Vurucuoğlu also uses materials such as spray  paint even though he is mainly known for the paper cut works. Having participated in many fairs and group exhibitions in Turkey and  abroad, Vurucuoğlu lives and works in Istanbul.
