Born in Mesuddiye / Ordu, the artist graduated from the State Applied Fine Arts Academy (Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts) Graphic Arts Department in 1979. His work has been published in 21 countries. His illustrations have been published 7 times in New Yorker Magazine and 1 time in Forbes Magazine. His illustrations were published in the Atlantic Moontly Magazine, New York Times ÖP-ED page and Book Rewiev supplement.
Ekşioğlu, who received a total of 72 awards, 27 international and 45 national, received the 1997 Sedat Simavi Visual Arts Award. He served in many national and international juries. Apart from a large number of group exhibitions, 3 of them opened a total of 44 personal exhibitions abroad. 4 separate books have been published.
The artist is still working in Yeditepe University staff.
He continues his work in his workplace in Moda.
