Emel Başarık
About
Emel BAŞARIK was born in Aydın in 1983. He graduated from Istanbul Avni Akyol Anatolian Fine Arts High School in 2002. Architect in 2006
He graduated from Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Interior Architecture. In 2007, he was appointed as an assistant to the department he graduated from. He completed his master's degree at MSGSÜ Interior Architecture Department in 2009 and his doctorate in 2013. He still gives Basic Education and Project courses at MSGSÜ Interior Architecture Department and has been continuing his painting studies in his workshop in Ortaköy since 2009.
In his paintings, he tries to interpret the concepts of human, place and space through temporary spaces. It follows the unburdened and temporary state of the space, and the change of the relationship established with the place depending on the experience of the individual. With the photographs he took, he tries to keep the scenes created by people flowing through the spaces at one time and in some situations. He uses the collages he makes while creating stories.
