Burcu Erden

The new period works of Burcu Erden contain a more wild and tense energy than the small-sized wooden human figure sculptures of the artist, which were previously exhibited and attracted great attention.These sculptures, which are reduced to torso only, without any signs of the identity of the figure, have no portrait because of their head, focus on an abstract stain and mass.With all these deductions, Erden puts the sculpting technique he uses while shaping his works in a conceptual framework. Eliminating the defined references in the abstraction of the figure and highlighting the basic elements of the sculpture discipline makes it possible for the artist to position his sculptures in an undefined and undetermined time.
