Bekir Dindar

Bekir Dindar, was born in Istanbul, graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Photograph Department in 2018. He has been studying Master’s Degree in the same university. The artist, who has attended to various of photograph festivals both in domestic and abroad, possesses mixed and selected personal exhibitions, awards, and that photograph books published thanks to the workshops to which he has attended. Bekir Dindar, whose works are incorporated into a great deal of issues, has been carrying out exhibitions and projects together with Demo Lab Photograph Collective whose one of founders is himself. 

Artist Statement 

By focusing on collective and personal memory, I produce works implying social, political and ecological issues based on observations related to an urban and and urban-space. I bear witness to the era in which I live by producing images together with story telling. I feel responsible for all the produced images. Therefore, my works do not only testify to the issues but also internalize them. In the meantime, I try to be involved in a story or a struggle by way of the photograph.
