Ahmet Doğu Ipek is known for his watercolor and ink/pencil on paper works produced with a diligent and detailed practice in his meditative style. However, the technique and contexts of the artist are always open to innovation. In his series that generally exhibit multi-layered, complex and monochrome characteristics, Ipek’s multi layered relationships with the city and nature are reflected to the audience. Extending from the microcosm to macrocosm, the repetitions and models in his earlier and new series are often inspired by concepts such as constructions, density and organic forms. In addition to his canvas works produced with watercolor and ink, Ipek has also been realizing multi- dimensional installations and site- specific works with artists from various disciplines.
