Vahit Tuna (b. 1971, Edremit) received an education in Graphic Design at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. In addition to his work in graphic design he also worked in the field of visual arts as of 1995. While continuing his personal artistic endeavours, he also supported projects of various art collectives with his work. Tuna has taken part in many group exhibits both inside Turkey and abroad, has had his works included in the collections of various museums and institutes. His first solo exhibit was held in 2002 at Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, where he had gone on scholarship, under the name “O Europe, Hear Us”. After this came his two personal exhibitions in
Istanbul: “Exercise” (Hafriyat Karaköy, 2008); and “Forever spectators...” (Depo, 2011); which were followed by “Psolo Exhibition” in 2017, within which a single exhibit was put on display in four separate art spaces at once and latest solo show “Cave” was at Versus Gallery, İstanbul.

His “Table” (Masa) project, started in 2006 is currently ongoing in Berlin and Istanbul. As a mobile art space for the exhibition of artists’ work; “Table” leads artists to question concepts such as space-within-space and time-within-time.

Tuna invites the viewer to re-read and re-interpret traces belonging to the mind; traces such as echoes, resonance, sound and memory, through societal roles and mind-sets belonging such as ultra-nationalism and power.
